About the Programme
The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna) is one of Nigeria's leading universities of
technology, renowned for its strong emphasis on science, engineering, and technological research. The
Bachelor of Engineering programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering provided a rigorous
foundation in circuit theory, power systems, control engineering, electronics, telecommunications,
embedded systems, and signal processing.
Over the course of my studies, I developed deep expertise in both theoretical and applied aspects of
electrical engineering, consistently ranking in the top 5% of my class while simultaneously pursuing
hands-on engineering projects and leadership roles that shaped my professional trajectory.
Academic Excellence
I graduated with a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and a CGPA of
4.21/5.00, placing me in the top 5% of my graduating class. My consistent academic
performance was recognized through multiple institutional awards and honours throughout my time at
FUTMinna.
- Vice Chancellor's Award of Academic Excellence (2018/2019): Awarded for outstanding
academic performance across the session
- Dean's Award: Recognized among students listed on the Dean's List for academic
excellence in the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technology
- Student Work Experience Programme (SWEP) Award (2018/2019): Received for the most
innovative SWEP project, demonstrating practical engineering skills
Research Experience
My undergraduate years were marked by a strong commitment to research, combining my interests in
embedded systems, security, and IoT to produce work that addressed real-world engineering challenges.
- Research Assistant, Department of EEE (June–Sept 2023): Worked under Engr.
Prof. J. G. Kolo on the design and development of a two-factor authentication (2FA)-based home
security system using password and SMS. Designed a cost-effective, secure 2FA prototype addressing
internet dependency and usability, achieving 1-second door authentication via Arduino-based
implementation
- Undergraduate Final Year Project (Oct–Nov 2022): Designed and implemented an
Automatic Gate for Cars at Railway Crossings under the supervision of Engr. Isyaku A. Saleh.
Developed an automatic railway gate system using IR sensors, enhancing safety and minimizing traffic
disruptions by preventing vehicle-train collisions with timely gate closures
Publications
Research conducted during my undergraduate studies has been published in peer-reviewed journals,
contributing to the body of knowledge in embedded systems and automation engineering.

Leadership & Extracurricular Activities
Beyond academics, I actively contributed to student welfare, community building, and mentorship
throughout my time at FUTMinna.
- Class Welfare Director (Dec 2019–Mar 2023): Managed project selection and
arrangement, led the planning and coordination of the class exhibition event, and oversaw class
organization and welfare by leading initiatives, maintaining order, and ensuring effective
coordination among students as the class representative
- Tutorial Lead, Living Faith Church Student Fellowship, Gidan Kwano (Feb 2019–Dec
2023): Led mentorship programs for new students, providing programming tutorials,
educational materials, and knowledge to support their learning and development
- Member, Google Developer Student Community, FUTMinna (2020): Participated in
developer community events, workshops, and collaborative learning sessions focused on modern
software development practices
